Application
Cobalt(II) chloride hexahydrate may be used in the following studies:
• For the in-situ synthesis of nickel(0) and cobalt(0) nanoclusters stabilized by poly(4-styrene sulfonic acid-co-maleic acid).
• Preparation
of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)-cobalt (II) chloride hexahydrate
nanofiber composites, via electrospinning method.
• As catalyst for the synthesis of 2-arylbenzimidazole.
General description
Cobalt(II) chloride hexahydrate has cobalt ions surrounded by a
tetragonal arrangement of ligands. Four water molecules occupy a square
plane about cobalt while chloride ions occupy axial positions.
